Amano Hashidate is one of the top three most beautiful Japanese sceneries.

It’s a sandy beach shaped by waves, splitting Miyazu Gulf and Aso Sea from the north to the south. In the past, it was used for Haiku or Ukiyoe painting, because it’s so beautiful. It has been a popular sightseeing place to this day.

There’s a story about Amano Hashidate.

A god called Izanagi used to come and go between the heaven and earth by a ladder hung in this place. However, Izanagi carelessly stayed on earth overnight, and that ladder fell and became today’s Amano Hashidate. There are no more ladders to connect gods up in heaven and people down here, but people continue to come to this place now, to admire the gods even more than before.

Indeed, there are magnificent views where you can still feel the breath of God in Amano Hashidate.
